Employment Opportunities

Education

Youth Arts Education Consultant
The Washington Performing Arts Society (WPAS) seeks an experienced arts educator to work closely with the WPAS Education Department to achieve its commitment to high-quality artistic and educational school programming through its Concerts-In-Schools (CIS) program, Capitol Jazz Project, Artist Residencies, and Partner School Initiatives. Youth Arts Education Consultant responsibilities: conduct yearly CIS observations of all WPAS Roster Artists/Ensembles; provide feedback to Artists/Ensembles through written evaluations, meetings and conversations; observe Capitol Jazz Project classroom sessions and performances as well as Artist Residencies/Partner School Initiatives, providing feedback through written evaluations, planning meetings and conversations with Artists/Ensembles and classroom teachers; work with Director of Education and staff to plan, coordinate and deliver two CIS professional development sessions per year; participate in professional development sessions for Artists Residencies/Partner Initiatives and Capitol Jazz Project as needed; assess the professional development needs of CIS artists; work with the master Teaching Artist program to support and develop; oversee and coordinate the writing of CIS Teaching Plans and other related materials; serve as consultant to the WPAS Director of Education, providing periodic reports and updates on WPAS initiatives and additional educational issues as needed. Finance

Accounting Associate
Responsible for the bookkeeping tasks of accounts payable, payroll, and income management. Ensure revenue transactions are journalized accurate and timely. S/he will communicate with departmental staff as needed in evaluating support documentation provided and coordinate required adjustments.
