Concerts in Schools provides teachers and students with artist lecture/demonstrations that bring the performing arts to life, often giving students their first look at a specific art form. A roster of more than 30 performing artists and workshop leaders is available for selection.
The Embassy Adoption Program is an award-winning multicultural enrichment program designated for sixth-grade students in the D.C. Public Schools. By pairing individual classrooms with participating embassies, students learn the various facets of their "adopted" country while developing a greater cultural perspective.
In-School Artist Residency Program brings WPAS roster artist(s) to a classroom to conduct a four-session series of workshops. With a theme on Latin American art forms, residencies are conducted both within the parameters of the Embassy Adoption Program and in schools outside of D.C.
The Feder Memorial String Competition is available for young musicians in grades 6-12 to compete for scholarships toward music institutions and festivals, as well as performance opportunities with WPAS. Categories include violin, viola, cello and bass viol.
