About Ms. Rivera:
Two-time Tony Award winner Chita Rivera will perform songs from her legendary Broadway career, including numbers from West Side Story ("America"), Sweet Charity ("Where Am I Going?" and "Big Spender"), Chicago ("All That Jazz" and "Nowadays"), Kiss of the Spider Woman, Bye, Bye, Birdie and The Rink, and featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein, John Kander & Fred Ebb, Charles Strouse, Stephen Sondheim, and Cy Coleman. Ms. Rivera was awarded The Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama. She received the coveted Kennedy Center Honor in 2002, the first Hispanic ever to receive this award.

Celebrate Argentina:
In recognition of Argentina’s bicentennial year and its remarkable contributions to world literature, music, and the arts, WPAS is honored to have His Excellency Héctor Marcos Timerman, the Ambassador of Argentina, and Mrs. Sielecki as Honorary Diplomatic Chairs. Enjoy Argentinean inspired cuisine, wines and, of course, the tango!

Support WPAS:
Proceeds from the WPAS Gala and Auction support our artistic programming and educational community outreach programs. Click Here to view the WPAS Education Brochure. For more than 40 years, WPAS has enriched the lives of nearly 4 million children and adults with programs such as Concerts in Schools, the Summer Performing Arts Academy, The Capitol Jazz Project, Embassy Adoption Program, Enriching Experiences for Seniors, the Men, Women and Children of the Gospel Choir, the In-School Artist Residency Program, and the Feder Memorial String Competition. In 2009 alone, we served over 112,000 youth and adults with this broad spectrum of activities to encourage creativity, talent, and appreciation for the arts. | *Click here to download the Education Brochure
