Planned Giving
Legacy Gifts to Washington Performing Arts Society
The Legacy Society
Washington Performing Arts Society's Legacy Society honors friends who make a planned gift benefiting the organization, such as through a will, bequest, trust, or other estate planning vehicle.
A planned gift to Washington Performing Arts Society may be part of a comprehensive estate plan that provides a way to complete a lifetime of giving, or allows you to make a significant gift that might not
be possible during your lifetime. Such gifts can also provide advantages such as lifetime income to you or others while offering certain tax benefits.
Gifts from Legacy Society members enhance WPAS' endowment (unless the donor designates otherwise). As costs inevitably rise for artist fees, venue rentals, and advertising, along with the increased demand
for our education programs throughout the community, a larger endowment is crucial for WPAS' future, helping to sustain the quality and diversity of the organization's artistic and educational programming
that are at the heart of WPAS' mission.
There is no minimum required financial commitment to be a Legacy Society member. Individuals or couples can join and are recognized through listings in performance programs and other publications. Each year, Legacy Society members are invited to a special dinner and recital in their honor.
Please consider deepening your commitment to WPAS and to the future of the performing arts in our community by joining the Legacy Society.
Some of the ways members provide for the future of WPAS are:
- A bequest in their will
- Charitable Remainder Trust
- Charitable Lead Trust
- Charitable Gift Annuity
- IRA charitable beneficiary designation
- Life Insurance policy charitable beneficiary designation
Retirement Assets
Donation of residential or agricultural real estate
Establishing an Endowed Fund to support a general or specific program
These, and other planned gifts offer many benefits to the donor, as well as to WPAS. To learn more about the personal advantages of charitable estate planning, please click here and discuss the
