Ticket Sales and Availability

Tickets can be purchased online or by calling or visiting the WPAS Ticket Services Office. Please see the Ticket Services page for details on office hours and contact information.

Tickets are available for purchase through WPAS Ticket Services for most performances until 24 hours prior to the performance. On the day of the performance, or on the weekend prior to a Monday performance, all sales must take place through the venue box office. For Ticketmaster venues (Warner Theatre, The Lincoln Theatre, DAR Constitution Hall, and GWU Lisner Auditorium), all single ticket purchases must be sold through Ticketmaster. Only WPAS member and subscribers can purchase these tickets through WPAS.

Exchanging Your Tickets

Tickets can be exchanged for another performance in the 2009-10 season. WPAS members and subscribers receive free exchange privileges. All other ticketholders may exchange tickets for a $5 per ticket fee.

To process an exchange, your tickets must be received by Ticket Services no later than 5pm on the day prior to the performance. In the case of a weekend or Monday performance, tickets must be received no later than 5pm on the preceding Thursday.*

WPAS encourages ticketholders to exchange by faxing a copy of their torn tickets, along with correspondence as noted below, to (202) 833-1595. If ticketholders choose to exchange by mail, be sure to allow ample time for mailing. WPAS is not responsible for tickets that are not received or that may be received after a performance because of delayed mail. WPAS regrets that exchanges cannot take place on the day of a performance.** Tickets turned in at the WPAS booth on the night of a performance may be given to other patrons at no charge and without compensation or credit for the original ticketholder.

When tickets are submitted for exchange, the ticketholder should include correspondence indicating the performance they would like to attend and the seating section or price preference. Seating availability and prices can be obtained by viewing the performance at wpas.org or by calling Ticket Services at (202) 785-9727. Availability is not guaranteed, and seats will not be held. WPAS personnel will contact the ticketholder upon receipt of the exchange materials.

The price of the original tickets will be applied to the new tickets at the appropriate price level (subscription discounts, for example, will be applied to the new tickets). If the new tickets are more expensive than the original tickets, the ticketholder must pay the difference at the time of the exchange. If the new tickets are less expensive, the difference will be placed on credit in the ticketholder???s account. Credits can be used for future purchases for the 2009-10 season only and do not carry forward to the following season. Ticket Policies: Sales, Exchanges, and Donations

Donating Your Tickets

Tickets can be returned for a tax-deductible donation. There is no service charge for returning tickets as a donation.

To donate tickets, they must be received by Ticket Services no later than 5pm on the day prior to the performance. In the case of a weekend or Monday performance, tickets must be received no later than 5pm on the preceding Thursday.*

WPAS encourages ticketholders to return tickets by faxing a copy of the torn tickets, along with a note authorizing the donation, to (202) 833-1595. If ticketholders choose to return their tickets by mail, be sure to allow ample time for mailing. WPAS is not responsible for tickets that are not received or that may be received after a performance because of delayed mail. WPAS regrets that ticket donations cannot take place on the day of a performance.** Tickets turned in at the WPAS booth on the night of a performance may be given to other patrons at no charge and without compensation or credit for the original ticketholder. Ticketholders will receive a letter acknowledging the donation within three weeks of the transaction.

*WPAS must ensure that exchanged or donated tickets cannot be used on the night of the performance. Since WPAS presents in many venues, barcode scanning and other technology to detect invalid tickets is not possible to use. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

**WPAS must transfer all remaining inventory to the venue on the morning of the performance, or on Friday morning for a weekend performance. Financial transactions, including exchanges and ticket donations, cannot take place once WPAS has closed out the performance sales.
