Program and Artist Information:

A superb bass player, highly nuanced vocalist, and promising composer, Spalding is a "triple threat" defying easy categorization. Collaborating and performing with artists including Stanley Jordan, M. Ward, and The Roots, Spalding's music is a playful collage of jazz fusion, Brazilian samba, and complex harmonic structures with a touch of hip-hop sensibility, helping redefine jazz for a new generation!
