More Than Notes concert preview at 6:45pm, led by Benjamin K. Roe

More Than Notes concert previews are an exciting way to enhance your enjoyment and understanding of WPAS performances. This season, lecturers Ben Roe and WETA’s Marilyn Cooley will offer insights and comparisons between the performing artists in each of the following genres—Great Orchestras, Pianists, Vocalists, and Strings—in addition to further illuminating the written program notes.

More Than Notes concert previews are generously made possible by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Artist Information:

For decades, Vladimir Feltsman has dazzled audiences throughout the United States and around the world. Feltsman's "articulation was clean and precise, and the music's spirit came through clearly," wrote The New York Times of Haydn's Sonata in E-flat Major. He also performs Beethoven's Pathétique Sonata and the sublime Pictures at an Exhibition, of which one critic said, "Feltsman rendered Mussorgsky's musical descriptions with such personal but convincing characterizations that you'd think he wrote the piece."
